There are always a few "unexpected surprises" hidden in the wardrobe - it may be the dress that is still straight after ten washes, or a T-shirt that is quick-drying after exercise. When the label is turned over, it is printed with "polyester fiber". This fabric, which is often labeled as "artificial" and "cheap", should have been removed long ago.
Don't always complain that it is not "natural" enough. When cotton and linen get moldy in the rainy season, the moisture-proofing properties of polyester fiber become the savior of southerners; when woolen sweaters shrink into children's clothing in the washing machine, the wrinkle-resistant polyester fiber saves lazy people the trouble of ironing. It is like a reliable partner, silently undertaking those scenes that the "delittle" fabric can't bear: windproof jackets for mountaineering, high-elastic leggings for yoga, and even the bling sequin decorations on wedding dresses can't be separated from its support.
What's more wonderful is its "plasticity". Technology has made polyester fibers no longer a single "chemical fiber feeling". After blending with cotton, it is more soft. After adding spandex, it adds a sense of elasticity. After special process treatment, it can also resist ultraviolet rays and splash water. Those brands that claim to be "zero chemical fiber" may have forgotten that polyester fiber can also be environmentally friendly - recycled polyester fiber is made of recycled plastic bottles, and a T-shirt can "eat" 6 bottles of mineral water. On the sustainable fashion track, it is quietly counterattacking.
The prejudice against polyester may stem from our obsession with "natural". However, the meaning of clothing is not the competition for the quality of fabrics, but whether it can be adapted to the diverse needs of life. When you sprint to the finish line in quick-drying sportswear, it saves luggage space when packing on a business trip, and when old clothes are recycled into a new fabric - you will find that saying "no" to polyester is actually rejecting a kind of practical tenderness.
Each fabric in the wardrobe should have its own place. The existence of polyester fiber is just to make our choice more free.
